My robot no longer climbs the wall? How come?

One of the biggest reasons for this problem lies with the starting position of the robot. It must lie or stand completely on the ground before it will be able to start the climbing cycle.

Another possible cause is a “greasy” edge of the pool due to biocide film. This is not visually visible, but comes from poor disinfection.

It is also best to check the following items:

  • Are the mousses still intact? If damaged, they will need to be replaced.
  • Are the mousses completely wet so that the robot can sink properly? This process can take an hour, so give it some time. You can possibly massage the mousses with water, though, so that the air escapes faster and the whole process goes a little faster that way.
  • Make sure the filters are clean. Dirty filters actually reduce suction, which means the robot will not be sucked (or will be less likely to be sucked) against the ground.
  • Is the propeller at the top still rotating? If not, remove the dirt so it can spin freely again.
  • Make sure the cable is loose enough in the water that the robot can reach all corners. Also check that the cable is not twisted.
  • In case of a “greasy” pool wall: check the water values and adjust as needed. Be sure to perform a chlorine shock and then brush/scrub the wall thoroughly.

For your information, not with every wall touch, the robot will climb the wall up to the water line to clean it.
Does the problem persist? Then we recommend sending the robot to be checked in our technical workshop. You can request this via the following link: Return Repairs – PPG (polletpoolgroup.eu)
